Most protection from the sun, made of cotton duck and with a plastic wire hidden inside the perimeter of the brim to keep it stiff, is favored by men and women who want the maximum in shady refuge from the sun. The AMC American Cancer Research Center has tested all Tilley Hats and certified that they block 98% of harmful UVA and UVB radiation, and provide the highest certification rating of Ultraviolet Protection Rating (UPF) 50+. Measurements: Front and back of the brim: 3-7/8"; sides: 3-1/2". Hat Sizing: Tilley Hats fit more comfortably than other hats. To find your size, simply use a tape measure to measure around your head in inches, just above your eyebrows (do not pull tight). Order options are given in inches and hat size. If you already know your regular hat size, please order one size larger when you order your Tilley. If you want to keep your faithful, old, worn-out friend, tell us and we'll return it to you. We understand. Upon purchase, your Hat is covered by a two year, all-peril, 50% deductible, Hat Insurance Policy to take the pain out of loss or irreparable damage. Fabric Story: Constructed of strong, soft, 10-ounce cotton duck which is specially treated to make it water repellent and mildew proof. The cotton is mercilessly pre-shrunk before it is cut and sewn. A cloth pocket in the crown holds a closed-cell, non-absorbent, 1/8" thick foam pad to help float the Hat and cushion a knock on the noggin. Washing Instructions: Machine wash in warm or cool water. Do not use bleach. Smooth and reshape the Hat by hand and set it out to air dry. Available in Natural with Green Underbrim only. In stock sizes 7 1/8 - 7 3/4.
